An awareness-cum-Self-Esteem Development Programme under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (Drug-Free India Campaign) was conducted at Khomdonbi Memorial (KBM) English School Relief Camp and M Binod Relief Camp in Kakching Khunou.
Organized by the District Administration Kakching in collaboration with the District Social Welfare Office, the initiative aimed to educate and support displaced individuals in resisting substance abuse. The programme highlighted the harmful effects of drug use and provided practical strategies for a drug-free lifestyle.
Asian Youth Leader under Colombo Plan, Nutan Nongthombam, attended as a resource person, along with KBM Relief Camp Convenor Mayanglambam Ratan Mangang and District Social Welfare Office Probation Officer Sanasam Sarat Singh.
A total of 250 inmates at KBM Relief Camp and 140 at M Binod Relief Camp participated in the event, which also included interactive sessions.
Launched in August 2020, Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan is a nationwide initiative by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment to combat drug abuse in 372 vulnerable districts across the country.
