The BABINA Institute of Nursing (BIN) on Wednesday organised the Lamp Lighting and Oath-Taking Ceremony for its first batch of B.Sc Nursing students at Classic Grande, Chingmeirong, marking the formal induction of the inaugural batch into the nursing profession.
Former Vice-Chancellor of Dhanamanjuri University Prof N. Rajmuhon Singh attended the programme as the Chief Guest, while Nursing Superintendent of District Hospital, Thoubal, Haorongbam Chandrashakhi Chanu, was the Guest of Honour.
The function was presided over by the Chairman and Managing Director of BABINA Group of Companies, Dr Thangjam Dhabali Singh. Principal of BABINA Institute of Nursing, Dr Thoudam Kheroda Devi, was also present.
A total of 38 B.Sc Nursing students, including both male and female candidates, took the nursing oath and participated in the lamp lighting ceremony, pledging to uphold ethical practice, compassion, and professional responsibility.
An award distribution segment was also held to recognise meritorious students.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Th Dhabali Singh said the ceremony symbolised the beginning of a new standard in healthcare education.
Referring to Florence Nightingale, he emphasised that nursing is rooted in service, discipline, and empathy.
He said the institute aims to prepare skilled healthcare professionals capable of meeting modern medical challenges.
He further stated that the BABINA Institute of Nursing, established in 2025, seeks to bridge local talent with national and international healthcare needs through quality infrastructure, academic facilities, and dedicated faculty.
Stressing the vital role of nurses, he said empathy and communication are as important as clinical skills.
Dr Dhabali also expressed gratitude to parents for their trust and reaffirmed the institute’s commitment to academic integrity, continuous learning, and professional development.
