March 3, 2025: The District Programme Officer (DPO), Integrated Child Development Services Scheme (ICDS) Cell, Kakching, under the supervision of the District Administration Kakching, conducted an awareness program under the 10th edition of the “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao” (BBBP) scheme at Kakching Khunou High School.
The event was attended by Dr. Thaodem Rajen Singh, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Kakching; Y. Achouba, ZEO Kakching; Ningthoujam Parango Singh, DPO/CDPO Kakching; and Chingtham Landhoni Devi, Headmistress of Kakching Khunou High School.
Nandita Ngangbam, Supervisor of ICDS Kakching, delivered the keynote address, highlighting the BBBP scheme’s objectives. She emphasized its role in preventing gender-biased sex selection, ensuring the survival and protection of the girl child, and promoting education and empowerment for girls.
As part of the program, a sanitary pad disposal machine was installed at Kakching Khunou High School. The machine, designed for the hygienic and eco-friendly disposal of used sanitary pads, aims to prevent pollution by safely converting waste into biodegradable material or harmless ash.
