Feb. 7, 2025: As part of the ongoing 10-year celebration of the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) initiative, which began on January 22, 2025, the District Administration of Churachandpur, in collaboration with the Village Authority, organized a public rally today to raise awareness on issues concerning the girl child.
Deputy Commissioner of Churachandpur, Dharun Kumar S, flagged off the rally from Public Ground, Hiangtam Lamka, and led the march alongside Lalthazam, CEO of ADCC, SDO/BDO Churachandpur, and Thangboi Gangte, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Churachandpur. The rally culminated at Peace Ground, Tuibong, with participants shouting slogans and carrying placards in English and local dialects to emphasize the significance of girls’ education and empowerment.
Approximately 1,500 village authorities from Churachandpur and Tuibong Sub-divisions actively took part in the rally, demonstrating their commitment to promoting education for the girl child. Members of the District Task Force (BBBP), Sub-Divisional Officers, and District Level Officers (DLOs) were also present to support the cause.
The event successfully highlighted the importance of ensuring equal opportunities for girls and reinforced the collective efforts toward a more inclusive and educated society.
