Believe it or Not? RIMS Student Points Wild Allegation Against RIMS Director

The RIMS Director Asked, “Do You Girls Want to Dance Naked in Front of Us?”

Doctor without morals? The prestigious RIMS has now come under scrutiny for excessive discrimination, abuse, fines, and breach of modesty of female students, allegedly by its higher authorities, using barbaric and uncivilized language.

After the recently concluded College Annual Festival—RIMSAM—on campus, 218 students of RIMS attended a house party. Following this, on May 1, the 218 students were suspended for a period of 10 days and ordered to pay a fine of ₹1000 each (218 x 1000 = ₹2,18,000 in total) by May 5, 2025. In addition, students were ordered to vacate their hostel rooms by May 6, 2025, the same day the notice was issued—something many outstation students found not only challenging but also a cause of huge emotional and mental trauma affecting their academic and personal lives.

More importantly, a student also alleged that the RIMS Director verbally abused 10 female students, stating obscene phrases such as, “Do you girls want to dance naked in front of us? You want to, so we’ll make you do that,” all in a very intimidating manner, and also said, “Will you commit suicide today? If not, I’ll hang you myself,” “Fucking bastards,” and “I’ll kill you,” while also threatening to throw drinking glasses at the students during the course of events in his chamber and threatening to fail the students in the university exams for consecutive years.

Post-noon, around 400 medical students from RIMS marched toward the AMSU HQ office at the DM University Campus, narrated the entire ordeal, and asked for their support in seeking justice and ending unethical practices. The RIMS students demanded a formal inquiry into the misconduct and verbal abuse by the Director, the Dean, and four sub-deans; an immediate review and revocation of the suspensions and fines imposed; withdrawal of the order to vacate the hostel; and assurance of fair treatment and protection of students’ rights.
