Bihar Polls Expose Collapse of Congress’ “Vote Chor, Gaddi Chhod” Agenda, BJP Manipur Says

BJP Manipur Pradesh intensified its critique of the Congress on Saturday, arguing that the Bihar election result has decisively undercut the party’s “Vote Chor, Gaddi Chhod” campaign. Addressing party members at the state headquarters, BJP vice president Ch. Chidananda said the Congress narrative—promoted aggressively by Rahul Gandhi—“never resonated with the people” and ultimately collapsed under its own hype.

Chidananda described the Congress campaign as a high-voltage political experiment that “failed to ignite even a spark,” despite weeks of dramatic slogans and nationwide attention. According to him, the Bihar polls were intended to serve as Rahul Gandhi’s stage to project the campaign as a national movement. “Instead,” he said, “the strategy imploded right at the launch site,” with the voters delivering a verdict that sharply contradicted the Congress message.

He suggested that the results have intensified unease within Congress circles, remarking that many of its leaders were already under pressure and are now facing added strain. The outcome, he claimed, has “only widened cracks inside the party,” as leaders scramble to interpret the setback and its implications for their political roadmap.

Chidananda added that even the presence of senior Congress figures could not steer the campaign toward stability. He argued that the Bihar verdict reinforced a broader trend of diminishing public faith in the Congress, despite the party’s attempts to frame the election around pointed accusations and assertive rhetoric.

“The people are clear about what they want,” he said. “And this result shows they were not persuaded by Congress’ storyline, nor by its attempt to dramatize the political landscape.”

He concluded that the Bihar outcome not only rejected the Congress campaign but also reaffirmed the BJP’s position that the party’s influence continues to shrink, even as it tries to amplify its messaging across states.
