Feb. 2, 2025: A peaceful bike rally was organized under the theme “Call for Peace and Support of Children Affected During the Ongoing Manipur Conflict” by EMA (Egalitarian Manipur of the Altruist) Trust.
To promote peace and raise awareness about the impact of the ongoing conflict on children in Manipur, the EMA Trust collaborated with various biking clubs, including RE 650 Club Manipur, Native Throttlers, Thangjing Thumpers Moirang, Meckley Royal Riders, Salai Athouba Kangleipak, Hiyang Riders Manipur, Sanamahi Motors, and Royal Motors.
The event began at Kangla Gate, with bikers riding through Imphal Airport Road, Bishnupur, Moirang, Kumbi, Sagang, Kakching, Thoubal, and Canchipur, concluding at Kakwa Pichu Lampak.
The rally was well-attended by approximately 250 bikers, who participated in a show of solidarity for the children and families affected by the conflict.
Retired Colonel Sapam Shantikumar, President of EMA Trust, expressed his gratitude for the bikers’ participation and emphasized the importance of supporting peace initiatives and addressing the needs of the children affected by the ongoing violence.
EMA Trust’s Secretary, Umakanta Sharma, spoke about the trust’s mission to provide financial and educational assistance to children affected by the conflict. The trust has already provided financial support to 74 individuals.
As part of their peace-building initiative, the trust is also actively working to provide support for children through sponsorship programs, with 114 sponsorships already secured.
