Biren belittle Cong allegation, Says Govt maintains confidentiality in certain areas

In a quick response to Congress allegation of issuing cheque amounting to Rs 6.25 Crore by state government to the HPC(D), a militant group under Suspension of Operation (SoO) agreement on July 2024, the Manipur CM on Sunday stated, “the Government has its own secrecy and it has to maintain the confidentiality”.


“We cannot expose all the thing. From the reason platform, the clarification will come from the concern party”, said Manipur CM N Biren Singh. He also belittled the MPCC president K Meghachandra allegation by stating that they (congress) will keep on saying many. I don’t have time to argument with them, as the Government has to move forward.


On Saturday, 11th of January, the the MPCC President K Meghachandra claims that an amount of Rs 6.27 crore was given in July 2024 to Hmar Peoples Convention (Democratic) through cheque by state government from the umbrella Scheme of Modernization of Police Forces in the midst of violent crisis.


And the said cheque released to HPC (D), was issued in the name the names of one Lalneikung and Joshua on July 9, 2024, said Meghachandra. Moreover, the said released of the amount also violated the guidelines of the umbrella Scheme of Modernization of Police Forces, he added.


The State Congress president also alleged that the amount, that was released at the height of the violent crisis, could have been used in procuring arms and ammunition.
