Bishnupur DC Chairs Security Meeting on Safe Harvesting and IDP Rehabilitation

Deputy Commissioner Bishnupur, Pooja Elangbam, convened a security meeting at the Mini Secretariat Complex today to review arrangements for the ongoing harvesting season in fringe areas and to discuss the early rehabilitation of internally displaced persons (IDPs).

The meeting was attended by SP in-charge Th. Shangkar Deba, ADM Toijam Opendro, commanding officers and representatives of central forces, SDOs, OCs, and other officials.

Elangbam emphasized the importance of close coordination among all security agencies to ensure that farmers can collect crops safely without any disruptions. She directed officers to extend full assistance to the public during harvesting hours, which have been scheduled from 6:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in fringe areas to allow adequate security coverage.

SP in-charge Shangkar Deba highlighted zones needing additional security deployment and stressed careful planning for a safe and smooth harvesting season. Reports presented at the meeting indicated that harvesting has begun peacefully in some areas and is expected to conclude by the end of November.

The Deputy Commissioner also discussed early rehabilitation plans for IDPs, noting that suitable locations have been identified and that security forces will provide necessary support. She urged all stakeholders to cooperate in fostering peace, development, and a safer environment for the district.
