Deputy Commissioner Pooja Elangbam convened a review meeting at the Mini Secretariat Complex on Tuesday to evaluate the management and functioning of relief camps across Bishnupur district. The meeting brought together Additional Deputy Commissioner Toijam Opendro, SDOs, camp nodal officers, and representatives of internally displaced persons (IDPs).
During the session, the DC urged officials to continue maintaining discipline and effective governance within the camps while working towards the early rehabilitation of displaced families. She stressed the need for all IDPs to hold valid bank accounts to prevent difficulties in direct benefit transfers.
Pooja Elangbam also encouraged maximum utilization of available government welfare schemes, including Mission Vatsalya for education and CMHT and PMJAY for healthcare coverage. The discussion further addressed on-ground challenges and shared feedback from camp officials and IDP representatives.
The DC commended the dedication of nodal officers and reiterated her commitment to ensuring that displaced residents can return to a stable and self-reliant life at the earliest.
