March 11, 2025 : Bishnupur district took a significant step toward structured development planning with its first-ever District Sabha at the Zilla Parishad Conference Hall, Mini Secretariat Complex. The event focused on aligning local initiatives with major Central and State Government flagship schemes such as POSHAN Abhiyan, Jal Jeevan Mission, MGNREGS, PMAY, and Ayushman Bharat.
A 34-member District Panchayat Planning Committee (DPPC) was formed, including the CEO of RD & PR, Block Development Officers (BDOs), and District Level Officers (DLOs). The Sabha outlined nine key themes for the District Panchayat Development Plan (DPDP), covering poverty alleviation, health, child welfare, water sufficiency, green villages, self-sufficient infrastructure, social justice, good governance, and women-friendly initiatives.
Emphasizing the importance of inclusive growth, CEO RD & PR Bhungba Maibam highlighted the Sabha’s role in identifying rural development projects that adhere to government guidelines. Officials, including BDOs from Nambol, Bishnupur, and Moirang, participated in discussions aimed at prioritizing local issues and integrating sustainable development goals into the district’s future roadmap.
