Bishnupur Launches Three-Day Jan Kalyan Shivir to Expand Welfare Scheme Coverage

Bishnupur, June 17: With more than 500 citizens participating on the opening day, Bishnupur District launched the three-day Jan Kalyan Shivir at the PRC Hall, Mini Secretariat Complex, to strengthen public access to government welfare programmes and services.

Deputy Commissioner Pooja Elangbam said the camp is designed to facilitate new registrations under beneficiary-oriented schemes, rectify discrepancies in records and expedite the disposal of pending applications and grievances. She noted that the nationwide initiative is being conducted from June 12 to 20 with the goal of ensuring that welfare schemes reach every eligible citizen.

Calling for active participation from officials and the public, Elangbam urged departments to ensure effective delivery of services throughout the programme. She also announced that the camp will continue at Chingphu Ningthou Sembileima Haraobung in Ishok on June 19 and at Maibram Mandop near Ibudhou Thangjing Temple in Moirang on June 20.

More than 20 departments established service counters at the venue, including Health, Social Welfare, Fisheries, CAF&PD, MSPDCL, Agriculture, Veterinary and Animal Husbandry, the District Child Protection Unit, Planning, Election and MSRLM.

An awareness programme on Grid Connected Rooftop Solar Systems was also conducted by MSPDCL’s Bishnupur Division as part of the event and received encouraging public participation.

During the camp, freshly issued Ayushman Cards and Ration Cards were handed over to beneficiaries. Several district officials, including ADM Toijam Opendro, AC to DC Gunamani and SDO Naorem Pritam, attended the programme.
