The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has hit out at what it calls “fabricated narratives” doing the rounds on social media and certain news outlets, which claim that its MLAs may join hands with the Congress to form a new government in the state.
In a statement issued by BJP General Secretary Deben Singh, the party dismissed the claims as “completely baseless” and warned against the spread of such politically motivated misinformation.
“The BJP has no alliance or understanding with the Congress. These rumours are not just false but intended to mislead and provoke,” the statement read.
The party also urged the public to remain cautious and not fall for unverified content online, especially at a time when political stability is crucial. It further appealed for responsible use of free speech, pointing to the dangerous consequences of fueling unrest through digital speculation.
