The BJP discussion over tea, which is seen as crucial and expected to bring a new wind, is currently underway at its state office, ‘Thabal Sanglen,’ in Imphal, chaired by its state president, A. Sharda Devi.
Although the meeting has been considered a crucial one, at least 9 BJP legislators did not arrive at the venue for the meeting. The legislators include MLA Th. Radheyshyam (Heirok), MLA L. Susindro (Khurai), U. Deben (Wabgai), MLA S. Kebi Devi (Naoriya Pakhanglakpa), MLAs Dinganglung Gangmei (Nungba), and S. Olish (Chandel).
Apart from restoring normalcy in the state, the meeting is also seen as a consensus-building effort to reinstate a popular government in Manipur after the imposition of PR and the subsequent suspended animation of the state assembly.
