The Bharatiya Janata Party, Manipur Pradesh has strongly condemned the incident of burning down the residence of Asker Ali Makakmayum, President of BJP Minority Morcha, yesterday at Lilong Sambrukhong.
According to a statement from BJP Manipur Pradesh, General Secretary L. Deben Singh said such an unfortunate incident must not happen in the future.
The house of the BJP Minority President was set ablaze by a large number of mobs last night for a social media post supporting the WAQF Amendment Bill. Police have initiated an investigation into the arson and are closely monitoring the situation to ensure that peace and order are maintained.
In light of the incident, the District Magistrate has imposed prohibitory orders in Lilong AC of Thoubal district to prevent any further disturbances.
