The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Manipur has issued a show cause notice to its spokesperson, M. Sureshkumar Singh, for allegedly making baseless allegations against party MLAs during a televised discussion aired on July 17, 2025.
According to the notice issued by the State Disciplinary Action Committee, Sureshkumar’s participation in the programme without prior approval from the party was deemed a violation of party rules and constitutional provisions.
The committee stated that his remarks had attracted unwanted public attention and caused serious displeasure among party legislators.
Terming the act as “misconduct and indiscipline,” the committee has asked Sureshkumar to submit a written explanation within seven days of receiving the notice.
It further warned that failure to respond within the stipulated time would be construed as an admission of guilt, warranting disciplinary action without further intimation.
The notice urged Sureshkumar to treat the matter with utmost seriousness.
