The BJP members (43/Phungyar BJP Mandal), led by one Ngachonmi Ramshang, who announced their resignation from the primary membership of the party, were blacklisted for anti-party activities since the 2022 Assembly election, after the said person, Ngachonmi Ramshang, failed to secure the party ticket for the said election.
“The statement (issued to press) is nothing more than a publicity stunt, aimed at misleading the public and an attempt to tarnish the image of the party for their personal gain,” said BJP VP Awung Shimray Hopingson, the ex-BJP MLA candidate for 43-Phungyar (ST) AC, in a statement release. “And all the signatories in the statement are wolves in sheep’s clothing,” the statement added.
A formal petition had also been submitted to the BJP State President (on 17.03.2022) for immediate disciplinary action based on their anti-party activities against Ramshang and his associates, for actively campaigning for rival parties, thereby adversely affecting the BJP’s position in the election result.
The statement said the official BJP Mandal and booth-level executives of the 43-Phungyar Assembly Constituency remain intact and fully committed.
The recent press release is a clear reflection of the personal frustration and ambitions of a few individuals and does not represent the views or actual condition of the party structure in the Phungyar constituency. The people of the constituency are well aware of these facts, and we trust their continued support in upholding the values and vision of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
