Blame Game Escalates: MPCC President Demands Urgent Flood Relief as Manipur Reels

Amidst mounting criticism over the handling of Manipur’s flood crisis, K. Meghachandra, President of MPCC, squarely blamed the President’s Rule Government for the recent devastation. Urging immediate compensation for flood victims, he emphasized that delayed aid holds no meaning for those enduring hardship.

Highlighting Manipur’s prolonged economic struggles exacerbated by COVID-19 and violence, Meghachandra stressed that mere rations are insufficient to meet the pressing needs of affected residents.

He pointed fingers at critical lapses, including the negligence in maintaining the Dolaithabi Dam despite engineer warnings, the untimely opening of the Ithai Barrage, and the Water Resource Department’s failure to complete a crucial Rs. 460 crore project within the stipulated timeframe.

Speaking at the “One Day Health Check-Up Camp” organized by MPCC’s Doctor Cell at Wangkhei Pujah Community Hall, Meghachandra’s remarks coincided with AICC leader Rahul Gandhi’s birthday, where he extended warm greetings.
