Blast Triggered by Suspected Kuki Militants Injures Two in Saiton–Nganukon Area, Bishnupur District

A blast triggered by suspected Kuki militants injured two individuals in the Saiton–Nganukon area of Bishnupur district this morning between around 5:40 am and 8:45 am.

The injured have been identified as 52-year-old Soibam Sanatomba Singh, son of late S. Angoubi Singh, of Saiton Makha Leikai, and 37-year-old Nongthongbam Indubala Devi, wife of late N. Bishworjit Singh, of Saiton Haiyaikon Maning Leikai. According to locals, at least two explosions were heard.

Both the injured were rushed to a hospital for treatment. The area where the incident occurred is located close to Kuki-dominated areas near the Dumpi Hill ridge, under Phabakchao Ekhai Police Station of Bishnupur district.
