Constable (GD) Deepak Chingakham of the Border Security Force (BSF), a brave son of Yambem, Manipur, has laid down his life in the line of duty during Operation Sindoor, part of the ongoing India-Pakistan conflict along the International Boundary.
On 10 May 2025, Constable Chingakham sustained multiple severe injuries due to intense cross-border shelling and bomb fire initiated from the Pakistani side in the R S Pura sector of Jammu District. Despite the critical nature of his injuries, he continued to uphold the spirit of duty and courage until he succumbed to his wounds on 11 May 2025, attaining martyrdom in the service of the nation.
His mortal remains are yet to arrive in his hometown. Sources confirm that his body is expected to reach Yambem, Manipur, by 13 May 2025, where he will be laid to rest with full military honors.
