In a cross-border drug trafficking case, the Border Security Force (BSF) and Jatrapur Police seized a massive consignment of 14,000 Yaba tablets during a joint operation near the Indo-Bangladesh border at Salpokhar.
Acting on precise intelligence inputs, a BSF team swiftly intercepted a red Chevrolet Aveo LS and raided nearby premises in the Baspokhar area.
The early morning operation, backed by Jatrapur Police, led to the recovery of 70 packets of Yaba tablets, with a street value of approximately Rs. 1.4 crore.
Three suspects — Sarfraj Ahmed of Meerut (UP), Jubair of Moradabad (UP), and Nazrul Islam of Cooch Behar (West Bengal) — were arrested from a nearby house during the operation.
The seized narcotics and the accused were handed over to Jatrapur Police for further legal proceedings.
The BSF Tripura Frontier said the successful bust highlights its vigilance and commitment to curbing narcotic smuggling along the sensitive Indo-Bangladesh border zone.
