Today forenoon, a complaint of alleged sexual harassment of a girl by one BSF person deployed in Churachandpur town came to the notice of BSF authorities.
Immediately, initiating disciplinary action against the individual, he was suspended and handed over to the police for further investigation and action as per the law of the land.
BSF has been deployed in Manipur not only to assist the local administration but also to instill a sense of security among the local population, said BSF in a release.
As a policy, any behavior unbecoming of a soldier is not tolerated, and immediate strict disciplinary action, as per BSF Act and Rules, is taken against the defaulter, it added.
