The NDA nominee C.P. Radhakrishnan has been elected as the 15th Vice President of India, securing a total of 452 votes.
The polling for the Vice-Presidential election took place today at the new Parliament building and concluded at 5 p.m., with the members of both Houses of Parliament casting their votes, according to agency reports.
The election, which witnessed a direct contest between Radhakrishnan and Opposition candidate B. Sudershan Reddy, was necessitated following the resignation of former Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar on July 21, citing health reasons.
