CAF & PD Nulls LPG Shortage Hypothesis Built on Social Media in Manipur

March 13, 2026 (IMP): The Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution (CAF & PD) has nullified all types of hypotheses circulating on social media regarding a shortage of LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) and other petroleum products in Manipur.

The Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) has affirmed that there is adequate stock of LPG and petroleum products (POL) in Manipur, and the CAF & PD has urged all consumers not to panic or engage in unnecessary hoarding of LPG and other petroleum products, which may lead to accidents and safety hazards.

“The Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), Imphal, has confirmed that there is no shortage of LPG or other petroleum products in Manipur and that sufficient stock is available,” stated CAF & PD Director K. Bono, according to a statement issued today.

The IOCL clarified that the temporary disruption in LPG distribution over the past few days was due to a purely technical issue at the all-India level in the Delivery Authentication Code (DAC) system. The issue has now been resolved and was in no way connected to the stock position of LPG in the state.
