April 23, 2026 (IMP): The valley of Manipur, which has been left dark since sunset, was lit up brightly against the winds of violence on Thursday with a large ‘Candlelight Vigil’ at Mao Market in Imphal, mourning collectively and calling unitedly for justice against the ‘Ukhrul Ambush’ (on 18th April, which killed two civilians) and the ‘Tronglaobi Bomb Attack’ (on 7th April, which killed two children).
Manipur Naga inhabitants in Imphal, along with the Meitei community, came together to make collective calls against terrorism and to express their intent for peace and justice. The vigil was organised by all Naga Students’ Associations, Manipur, and the Naga People’s Union, Manipur.
“You come to us with your guns and bombs; we come to you with truth” and “Government of India and Government of Manipur, remove the Frankenstein from our backyard”; “Stop war against Naga”; “Our history is our testament to peace and justice.”
