Opposition Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has announced that they are completely convinced that the caste-census is the new paradigm of development and they support it. However, the party wants to know its timeline — how long it will take to complete.
The Congress leader also said that the party wants the NDA government to implement Article 155 — ‘Reservation in Private Institutions’, which is already a law.
Rahul Gandhi stated, “In Parliament, we said the caste-census won’t be left undone. And the 50 percent cap, the artificial wall, will also be removed by breaking it.”
He further remarked, “After 11 years, suddenly PM Narendra Modi has announced it, and we also strongly support it. But what we want is the timeline — how long will it take?”
He said Telangana has become a model of the caste census and could serve as a blueprint. “We want to offer the government support in its design, which is crucial. There are two kinds of design — one is the Bihar model and another is the Telangana one — which have a difference of heaven and earth.”
“I want to move forward with the caste census, as it is the new paradigm of development, and we want to bring development through the caste-census. What we want to know is how long it will take, the budget required, and the developmental vision,” he concluded.
