The Central Bureau of Investigation, Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB), Imphal arrested a Senior Accountant of the Office of the Principal Accountant General (A&E), Manipur, after he was allegedly caught accepting a bribe of ₹10,000 for processing an MACP file.
The arrested official, identified as Irom Bishorjit Singh of the GOE Section, was apprehended on 18 November 2025 during a trap laid by the CBI team. According to investigators, he had demanded money from a staff member of the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL), Pangei, in exchange for clearing the file.
Searches are underway at the accused officer’s premises, and further investigation is in progress, the agency said.
The CBI ACB, Imphal has urged central government employees, public sector bank staff, and public sector undertaking employees to report any demand for bribes. Complaints can be made via mobile at 6909397799 or landline at 0385-2414145.
