A group of CC Higher Secondary School students marching toward Raj Bhawan were stopped today in front of Nupi Lal Complex, Imphal West, as they attempted to storm the Governor’s office in protest against yesterday’s alleged use of excessive force on IDPs trying to return to their homes at Dolaithabi.
Security personnel pushed the students back all the way to the Veterinary Office gate in Imphal East.
After a brief standoff, a few student representatives were finally allowed to enter the Raj Bhawan premises to meet the Governor.
The students held placards condemning the excessive use of force against displaced residents who attempted to re-enter their homes, calling the action unjust, even as the PR Government celebrates the Sangai Festival 2025.
