BJP legislator Khongbantabam Ibomcha has assured that the party’s central leadership is actively working to pave the way for the formation of a stable and representative government in Manipur.
Speaking to the media at the BJP Bhavan on Thursday, the Lamlai MLA said consistent efforts are being made at the national level to create conditions conducive to governance and peace in the state. “The central leadership is fully engaged with various stakeholders, including civil society groups, to ensure that a popular government can take shape soon,” Ibomcha stated.
He added that fostering a favourable political atmosphere is key to resolving ongoing challenges and rebuilding public trust in democratic processes.
Earlier on Thursday, Ibomcha and other BJP leaders met with state BJP president A. Sharda Devi, who recently returned from Delhi after consultations with party leaders at the Centre regarding the state’s political future.
Calling for unity, Ibomcha urged citizens to support the efforts being made toward government formation, noting that cooperation from all sections of society is essential at this juncture.
Manipur has been without a fully functional popular government for some time, and pressure has been mounting for a resolution to the political deadlock. The BJP, which leads both the state and central governments, is under scrutiny to act decisively.
