Chandel Launches Three-Day Jan Kalyan Shivir for Welfare Scheme Enrollment

Chandel, June 17: A three-day Jan Kalyan Shivir, designed to bring government welfare services closer to the public, was launched on Tuesday at the Multipurpose Hall of the Mini Secretariat in Chandel District.

Inaugurating the programme, Deputy Commissioner Hemant Kumar emphasized the need for a beneficiary-focused approach and urged departments to intensify awareness campaigns so that more eligible residents can access government schemes. He also directed officials to maintain accurate records of beneficiaries and services delivered during the camp.

District-level officers were instructed to operate departmental stalls for the enrollment of eligible beneficiaries and distribution of pending benefits. The Deputy Commissioner encouraged residents to visit the stalls and make use of the services being offered throughout the three-day programme.

More than 15 departments participated in the event, including Health, Social Welfare, Forest, Horticulture, Fisheries, CAF&PD, MSPDCL, Agriculture, Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Sciences, the District Child Protection Unit and MSRLM.

As part of the inaugural day activities, beneficiaries associated with the Forest Department, Fisheries Department and the Autonomous District Council received relevant materials and assistance. Authorities also conducted mass registration of newly eligible beneficiaries under various welfare and development schemes.

Among those present were Additional Deputy Commissioner Md Firoz Khan, SDO Chandel Reikimdaar Khaling, SDO Chakpikarong Md Tajuddin, SDO Khengjoi Mohammed Gayasuddin Khan, DFO N. Munal, CMO Dr. Joyson Mathew Monsang, district-level officers, village chiefs and beneficiaries.

The campaign is scheduled to conclude on June 19 with a series of outreach initiatives aimed at promoting inclusive development and citizen-centric governance across the district.
