Chandel Students Paint Powerful Messages on Drug Abuse Awareness

Feb. 1, 2025: In a bid to raise awareness about the critical issue of drug abuse, the District Legal Services Authority, Chandel, in collaboration with the Naga Students’ Union Chandel (NSUC), organised a painting competition on the theme “Issues of Drug Abuse & Its Impact on Society” today.

The event, held at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV), Chandel District, Manipur, was jointly organised by the Manipur State Legal Services Authority and the National Legal Services Authority.

The primary focus of the event was to sensitise students about the dangers of drug abuse and to highlight the de-addiction schemes and policies in place within the state.

Students from JNV Chandel actively participated in the competition, which was divided into two categories: 5th to 8th standard students and 9th to 12th standard students.

The event aimed to engage the younger generation in understanding the societal impact of drug abuse while promoting creative expression as a tool for awareness.

The programme was presided over by S.K. Amarson Lamkang, Principal of JNV Chandel, with Ruwnglar Elly Anal, President of NSUC, and Kiran Mayengbam, Teacher at JNV Chandel, serving as special guests for the occasion.
