In a tribute to World Environment Day 2025, MSF President Hijam Roshan echoed a call to nurture newly planted tree saplings at Cheiraoching.
Stressing the crucial role of community care, Roshan urged locals to take ownership of these saplings, underscoring their potential to enhance Manipur’s climate resilience and global environmental health.
The massive tree plantation, a joint effort by AMUCO, MSF, and TUC, saw over 300 volunteers converge today at Cheiraoching in Imphal West district, aimed to foster sustainable practices and community engagement in environmental conservation.
Distinguished guests included AMUCO Vice-President Dr. Norendro Thokchom, Secretary General Pratap Leishangthem, alongside MSF Vice-Presidents Prem Ningombam and Tekcham Rojit Singh. The event marked a pivotal step towards greener futures, with plans to plant an additional 2,000 saplings atop Cheiraoching’s hills.
Under the banner of environmental stewardship, this initiative promises a flourishing legacy for Manipur’s landscape and beyond.
