SHILLONG, June 4: Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh attended the 73rd Plenary Session of the North Eastern Council (NEC) held in Shillong, Meghalaya, on Thursday, where leaders from across the Northeast deliberated on the region’s long-term development agenda.
The session was chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah and attended by Union Minister for Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) Jyotiraditya M. Scindia, Minister of State for DoNER Sukanta Majumdar, Governors and Chief Ministers of the Northeastern states, along with senior government officials and other dignitaries.
Key discussions during the plenary session centred on the North East Vision Plan 2047 and various regional priorities aimed at accelerating growth, connectivity, infrastructure development and socio-economic progress across the Northeast.
Following the meeting, Chief Minister Khemchand Singh stated that Manipur remains committed to implementing NEC policies and programmes in letter and spirit. He emphasized the state’s continued support for collaborative initiatives that contribute to the overall development of the Northeast region.
The plenary session brought together representatives from Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura to review progress and chart future strategies for regional advancement.
