Jan. 31, 2025: The newly appointed Chief Secretary of Manipur, Prashant Kumar Singh, IAS, visited Kangpokpi District and chaired a meeting at the Conference Hall with leaders of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), District Level Officers (DLOs), medical staff, and education officials.
The Chief Secretary addressed the gathering, highlighting the importance of collaboration and cooperation among various stakeholders. He emphasized the need to work together step by step in addressing the challenges faced by the people of Manipur. Singh also welcomed suggestions from CSOs on feasible solutions to the problems and assured them of the government’s commitment to resolving these issues effectively.
This meeting provided a platform for open communication, encouraging dialogue between the government and different organizations, fostering greater understanding, and seeking collaborative efforts to meet the needs of the community.
Rajiv Singh, Director General of Police (DGP), Government of Manipur, and N. Ashok Kumar, Commissioner (Home), Government of Manipur, accompanied the Chief Secretary during the meeting.
Later in the evening, the Deputy Commissioner of Kangpokpi, Mahesh Chaudhari, IAS, along with the Superintendent of Police, Kangpokpi, Manoj Prabhakar, IPS, and Sub-Divisional Officers (SDOs) of Kangpokpi District, visited the pre-fabricated houses in Ngahmun village, Champhai Sub-Division.
The Deputy Commissioner took the opportunity to assess the living conditions of the displaced individuals residing in these houses. During his visit, Chaudhari distributed essential items to the inhabitants, providing much-needed support and relief. His gesture was a comforting and hopeful act for the displaced persons, offering them a sense of care during these challenging times.
The visit and meetings underscored the government’s continued dedication to the welfare of the people while reinforcing the importance of collaborative efforts to address the ongoing concerns in the region.
