The Glory Children Home at Thamnapokpi witnessed a vibrant atmosphere as children from across Bishnupur District came together for the Children’s Festival 2025.
Organised under the themes of cultural exchange, education and health awareness, and combating child exploitation, the event was a collaborative effort by the District Child Protection Unit of Bishnupur, Newlife Foundation Manipur, and the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan Committee.
The festival, graced by Keisham Pradipkumar Singh, Chairperson of the Manipur Commission for Protection of Child Rights, and Kh. Rebati Raman, Chairperson of the Child Welfare Committee, Bishnupur, highlighted the importance of holistic child development.
Deputy Director Konsam Saroja Devi from the Department of Social Welfare, and Dr. Lamabam Pishak, General Secretary of Newlife Foundation Manipur, also lent their support to the cause.
Children showcased their talents through performances, emphasising the festival’s aim to provide a platform for artistic expression and talent exchange.
Discussions and sessions focused on educating children about the dangers of substance abuse, promoting health awareness, and advocating against child exploitation, resonated deeply with attendees.
Dr. Lamabam Pishak, General Secretary of Glory Children Home, expressed gratitude for the overwhelming participation and stressed the festival’s role in empowering children to voice their concerns and aspirations.
The event concluded with honouring 12 journalists from the All Bishnupur District Working Journalist Union with mementos for their contributions to child welfare.
