17 May 2025: One active cadre of the Chin-Kuki National Defence Force (CKNDF), a non-SoO group, who is actively involved in the recruitment of young people for the outfit in the Churachandpur area, was arrested yesterday from the Tuibong area of Churachandpur District, Manipur, on Saturday.
The arrested individual, Thongkhohou Touthang (34) of Tonglal Veng, Churachandpur District, a CKNDF cadre, is said to be based in Moreh and Myanmar.
Apart from recruiting young people, the arrested person is involved in cross-border arms and cadre movement. He is also involved in extorting money from the public in the name of CKNDF. From his possession, one mobile phone along with one SIM card was seized.
