Chinese Artists Stage Ramayana Dance Drama ‘Adi Kavya – The First Poem’ in Beijing

A large group of Chinese dancers wowed the audience in Beijing by performing the Ramayana dance drama “Adi Kavya – The First Poem,” based on the Chinese translation of the Ramayana by noted scholar late Prof. Ji Xianlin.

The performance, held at the Indian Embassy on Saturday, united over 50 talented artists in a stunning cultural confluence. The drama was directed by Chinese Bharatanatyam exponent Jin Shanshan.

Adi Kavya — a Bharatanatyam interpretation of the Ramayana, presented by Sangeetam India Arts and directed by Ms. Jin Shanshan — captivated a large audience, which the Indian Mission described as a “stunning cultural confluence” in a post on X.
