Churachandpur, March 31: Emphasising access to free healthcare for vulnerable populations, a one-day awareness campaign on Chief Ministergi Hakselgi Tengbang (CMHT) and Ayushman Bharat–Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) was organised at relief camps in Churachandpur district.
The programme, conducted at Mata IFCD Relief Centre and Lanva TD Block Relief Centre in Churachandpur subdivision, focused on informing residents—particularly internally displaced persons—about the benefits and procedures under the schemes.
During the session, Jenny Paite outlined key aspects such as eligibility criteria, enrolment steps, required documentation, and proper usage of health cards. Participants were encouraged to obtain or update their CMHT and AB-PMJAY cards in advance and bring Aadhaar and IDP documents to facilitate registration and avoid complications during medical emergencies.
The campaign also highlighted the provision of cashless treatment coverage of up to Rs. 5 lakh per family per year at empanelled hospitals, aimed at easing the financial burden on economically weaker sections.
Officials from the District Implementation Unit, including Dr. Vanlalkungi, Thuamkhanlian Ngaihte, and Thangmuanlal, participated in the programme along with inmates of the relief camps.
As part of ongoing outreach efforts, similar awareness drives will be conducted in other subdivisions of Churachandpur district until April 7 to ensure wider coverage and inclusion of eligible beneficiaries.
