The District Administration of Churachandpur successfully conducted a Civil Defence mock drill under ‘Operation Abhyaas’ today at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Tuinom.
Organised under the Civil Defence Rules, 1968, the exercise simulated an air raid scenario to test the district’s emergency preparedness across departments. Key participants included the Police, Fire Services, Assam Rifles, Health Department, MSPDCL, and volunteers from NCC, NSS, NYK, and various local schools and colleges.
District Level Officers, armed forces dignitaries, and departmental staff attended the event, reinforcing the importance of coordinated response in times of crisis.
Deputy Commissioner Dharun Kumar emphasized the need for calm and public confidence during emergencies. He assured that the drill was not to create fear but to instill safety awareness and readiness.
The drill featured air raid sirens, blackout simulations, emergency medical response, rescue operations, and civilian safety training.
