A protest organised by members of the Manipur Pradesh Youth Congress in Imphal turned turbulent today as clashes broke out between demonstrators and police forces.
The protest, held in response to the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which claimed the lives of 26 individuals, including security personnel, escalated into heated exchanges and physical confrontations.
Expressing profound outrage, the Youth Congress vehemently condemned the attack, placing direct blame on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.
Accusing the central leadership of gross negligence and failure to prevent what they described as a “cowardly” act of terror, protesters went on to allege sinister collusion between the attackers and government officials, suggesting a conspiracy against innocent civilians.
Sarifa Rehman, General Secretary of the All India Youth Congress and the Manipur in-charge, expressed the Congress’s stance. She highlighted the urgent need for accountability and demanded immediate action to safeguard national security amidst escalating tensions.
