Imphal: Jan 23 : Chief Minister N. Biren Singh has issued a stern warning against character assassination and the unlawful interference in private and family matters through social media platforms, as well as against organisations taking the law into their own hands.
Speaking during a media briefing at his secretariat on the occasion of distributing track suits to members of the media fraternity, the Chief Minister emphasised that such acts could lead to severe consequences, including suicides.
He stressed that legal action would be taken against administrators of social media pages who engage in these harmful practices and announced plans to initiate sensitisation programs aimed at educating social media administrators on responsible online conduct. The Chief Minister also stated that those found guilty of such activities would face strict warnings.
