Imphal: Dec 25 : Chief Minister N. Biren Singh distributed advanced prosthetic devices to Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) at an event held at his bungalow in Imphal on Saturday.
The distribution included state-of-the-art myoelectric hands and motorized wheelchairs, all manufactured locally in Manipur. These modern devices are designed to assist PwDs in performing daily tasks, enhancing their quality of life, and promoting greater independence.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister reiterated his administration’s dedication to the welfare of PwDs, ensuring they receive the necessary support to live fulfilling and active lives.
As part of the Chief Minister’s Assistance Program, PwDs are provided with financial grants and aid under the CMST scheme. He added that students with disabilities (SwDs) also benefit from scholarships, free travel, and public transport concessions through the MST.
Biren Singh emphasised that his government’s focus on providing support to PwDs aligns with its broader goal of fostering a more inclusive society, where all citizens have the opportunity to thrive and contribute to the community’s development.
