Imphal: Jan 25 : Chief Minister N. Biren Singh extended his heartfelt blessings to the 400 athletes from Manipur who will represent the state in the 38th National Games, scheduled to take place in Uttarakhand.
During a ceremony at the Chief Minister’s bungalow, organised by the Youth Affairs and Sports Department in collaboration with the Manipur Olympic Association, the Chief Minister expressed immense pride in the state’s contingent, who will compete in 19 different disciplines.
He commended the athletes for their dedication and hard work, wishing them success and victory at the prestigious event.
Praising the state’s consistent participation in the National Games since 1999, he emphasised that Manipur’s sporting achievements would continue to grow with increased investments in infrastructure, training programs, and support for athletes.
Biren Singh also highlighted the integral role of sports in the state’s cultural identity, underlining the significance of the athletes’ accomplishments as a reflection of Manipur’s rich traditions.
