March 29, 2026 : Showing community solidarity, residents of Takyel Kolom Leikai have extended financial support to Aheibam Roshni, who has been selected by the United Muaythai Association–India (UMAI) to represent the country at the Muaythai 2026 Senior World Championships to be held in Malaysia from June 16 to 25.
A monetary aid programme was organised today at the Young Progressive Club, Takyel Kolom Leikai, with contributions from the club, AMUCO, and MSF.
The initiative aims to assist Roshni in her preparation and participation in the international championship.
Speaking on the occasion, Young Progressive Club President Pheiroijam Dineshwor expressed pride in Roshni’s achievement, stating that her selection to represent India is a matter of honour for the locality. He appealed to the public to extend further support to ensure she can compete at her best and bring laurels to the state and the nation.
Roshni, a gold medallist in Muaythai, has been training under coach Yaima Lai, whose guidance has been instrumental in her journey. Community members voiced confidence that she will represent not only Manipur but also India with distinction on the global stage.
