Convergence Mela Held at Langmeidong

KAKCHING, October 28:
A Convergence Mela was held on Tuesday at the Langmeidong Panchayat Ghar, Langmeidong, Kakching District, under the initiative of the Manipur State Rural Livelihoods Mission (MSRLM), Langmeidong CD Block. The event was jointly organised by the Village Level Federations (VLFs) under Langmeidong Gram Panchayat — Apunba VLF, Anouba Mayol VLF, Ima Panthoibi VLF, Leichal VLF, and Yening VLF — in collaboration with the Panchayati Raj Institutions–Community-Based Organisation (PRI–CBO) Convergence and the PRI members of Langmeidong Gram Panchayat.

The Mela was inaugurated by Block Development Officer (BDO), Langmeidong CD Block, and Programme Officer (MGNREGS) Mayengbam Ingocha Singh as the Chief Guest, along with Former Waikhong Zilla Parishad Member Ch. Indrajit as Guest of Honour. The event was also attended by VLF President Yumnam Dhaneshwori, Post Commander of Langmeidong Outpost Md. Kayamuddin, Panchayat Secretary Najir, Social Worker Yumnam Samojit, Ex-Pradhan Elangbam Muhindro, and staff members of MSRLM, among others.

Altogether, 11 government departments took part in the Convergence Mela, providing various public awareness and service stalls for the local people.

Speaking at the function, Chief Guest Mayengbam Ingocha highlighted that such Convergence Melas are organised to make people aware of different welfare schemes and services provided by the government. He also encouraged close coordination between departments and community-based organisations for the effective implementation of these programmes. He further appealed to the public to take advantage of the opportunities and knowledge shared during the Mela.
