DISHA Committee held meeting for Imphal West

“The success of government schemes depends on coordinated efforts and proactive governance,” stated Dr. Angomcha Bimol Akoijam, MP and Chairperson of the DISHA Committee, during the first DISHA meeting for Imphal West held at Kombirei Hall, Imphal West DC Office Complex, on March 28, 2025.

The meeting, organized by the District Administration, reviewed the implementation of various Centrally Sponsored Schemes (CSS) in the district. Dr. Akoijam emphasized the importance of conducting DISHA meetings quarterly to improve coordination among government departments and enhance the effectiveness of developmental projects.

Key areas of discussion included Health, Education, Infrastructure, and Livelihood Development. Dr. Akoijam stressed the necessity of grassroots monitoring and on-site inspections to assess ground realities. He called for transparency and accountability among District Level Officers (DLOs), urging them to go beyond routine presentations and focus on effective implementation to ensure tangible benefits for the people.

The meeting saw presentations from various government departments, including Zonal Education, Agriculture, Horticulture, Social Welfare, Rural Livelihoods Mission, and Smart Cities Ltd., among others. Officials provided updates on schemes such as PM POSHAN, Samagra Shiksha, Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY), Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY), and the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF).

The session was attended by Deputy Commissioner Mayanglambam Rajkumar Singh, representatives from different constituencies, elected members of local bodies, and nominees of the DISHA committee, reinforcing the collective commitment to the district’s development.
