CRE 2024: Adjusting All Candidates to Manipur is Not Feasible

Feb 24, 2025: The allocation of examination centres within Manipur for the Common Recruitment Examination (CRE-2024) has not been feasible due to limited infrastructure and security constraints, forcing many candidates to be reassigned to other states, according to AIIMS, New Delhi.

In a reply to a letter to the Deputy District (Admin) RIMS, regarding the recruitment for Group ‘B & C’ posts under the Central Government, only three exam centres were available in Manipur, while 6,800 candidates had selected the state as their first preference.

As a result, nearly 4,000 candidates have been relocated to nearby centres, primarily in Guwahati.

The examination, scheduled from February 26 to 28, will be conducted in a single shift per group through computer-based tests (CBT).

Candidates were initially given three preferred state options for their exam centres, with prior notice that an alternative location might be assigned if necessary.

Special requests from pregnant women and accident cases were considered, with eligible candidates being allotted their preferred centres upon submission of valid documents.

However, due to logistical constraints and the need to maintain secure examination conditions, “adjusting all candidates to Manipur is not feasible under the evolving situation at this stage,” the letter mentioned.

The AIIMS examination body has assured candidates that all necessary arrangements have been made for a smooth and fair recruitment process and urged them to cooperate with the revised centre allocations.
