FEB 16, 2026 (IMP): All 23 delegates who joined the National Integration Tour (NIT) from Chandel and Tengnoupal districts of Manipur met the President of India, Droupadi Murmu, at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi on Monday. During the engaging interaction, the President praised the rich cultural heritage and resilience of the Northeast and encouraged the delegates to contribute actively towards peace, education, and inclusive national progress.
The National Integration Tour (NIT), organised by the Assam Rifles, is a 15-day journey for representatives of civil society organisations from the Tengnoupal and Chandel districts of Manipur. The initiative is designed to strengthen national unity, foster cultural exchange, and deepen mutual understanding among diverse communities.
During their stay in the capital, the participants visited India Gate, the National War Memorial, and the historic Red Fort. These experiences allowed them to pay tribute to the nation’s martyrs, reflect on India’s democratic legacy, and gain a deeper appreciation of its history and sacrifices.
The tour instilled pride and strengthened national consciousness, offering the delegates a broader perspective on their role in shaping unity and development in Manipur and beyond.
