DC Bishnupur Distributes ₹18 Lakh Financial Aid to 12 Self Help Groups

Deputy Commissioner of Bishnupur and District Mission Director of the Manipur State Rural Livelihoods Mission (MSRLM), Pooja Elangbam, distributed cheques worth ₹18 lakh to 12 Self Help Groups (SHGs) under the Luchingbi Village Level Federation of Kwasiphai during a ceremony held at the Mini Secretariat Complex, Bishnupur.

The financial assistance, provided through the Community Investment Fund, is intended to support income-generating activities and strengthen the economic independence of women in rural areas.

Addressing the gathering, DC Pooja Elangbam encouraged SHG members to use the funds responsibly to enhance their livelihoods. She underscored that financial independence not only improves family stability but also empowers women to have a stronger voice within the community.

“When we develop ourselves, we also contribute to the progress of our families and society,” she said, adding that collective growth must be accompanied by values of kindness and mutual support for a prosperous future.

She further assured that the district administration will continue extending necessary support to strengthen SHGs and appreciated MSRLM Bishnupur for its ongoing efforts toward women’s empowerment and rural development.

The event was attended by ADM Bishnupur Toijam Opendro, District Mission Manager Angom Amarjit, officials of MSRLM, and SHG representatives who expressed their gratitude for the financial assistance and guidance.
