Deputy Commissioner of Bishnupur, Pooja Elangbam, laid the foundation stone for a 100-meter shooting range at Keipha Road — an initiative of the Bishnupur District Rifle Association (BRDA) under the Manipur Rifle Association (MRA).
Speaking at the event, DC Pooja Elangbam expressed happiness over the project and encouraged young shooters to make full use of the facility. She noted that the range would become a hub for nurturing talented marksmen who could bring laurels to the district, the state, and the country.
She also emphasized that developing sports infrastructure is crucial for promoting a culture of discipline and achievement among the youth. The shooting range is expected to provide athletes with a modern platform for training and competitions.
The ceremony was attended by officials from CRPF, SDO Moirang Chiron Somerendro, BDO Moirang H. Ricky, MRA President M. Rajchandra Singh, and BRDA President K. Chandrakumar, among others.
